Ever since I got Win XP I have experienced brief losses of internet connection.
This is most notable when playing games, every now and again I stop
receiving information, and then a few seconds later I start receiving again.
This keeps happening over and over again.

I have used a netgraph program, and it shows that I stop receiving
information, but I'm still sending out information.

I doubt that it is a hardware problem, since I have recently changed
computers, and still I get the problem.

I have a dsl connection to the internet.

I didn’t have this problem before when I used Windows ME.

Just imagine the VAST amount of bits being sent when you are playing online
games. Then understand packet switching. It only takes one errant bit and
the chain is broken. Your IP stack and/or your browser should ask for
missing packed again but it doesn't always work that way.

This is likely not an XP problem. The usual suspect for this is the
gaming host system itself. Many of these have known problems with
specific games. Google Groups with the name of your game host system.
See what you find. You might be very surprised.

Gray,

one possibility is described in
