after installing Windows service pack 2 the computer
would not boot so i restored to before the service pack
load but now get the error message "error cannot load
c:\windows\system32\bridge.dll may be corrupt" . I OK
this message and nothing seems to be wrong with computer.

I would appreciate any help on this subject

Bridge.dll is a sure sign you have scum ware in your computer. Please do a
good virus scan and remove all problems, followed by adaware and spybot,
then defrag and reboot. Then read
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkID=26347 and do the other things
suggested. Then install SP2.
