breaking a vba add-in while loading into debugging

I want to stop an add-in when it load's up.
I get some errors from my vba addin when I startup Excel and would like
to know where these come from my looking in a debugger.
How can I do that?

Does this also work when the VBA add-in is password protected?
It does not seem to work for me!
