In a folder i have 1000 files of my calling customers.
Individual files contain this, same in all files.


name XYZ Account Number 4539

A B C D E AMOUNT BALANCE: 8210
DATE TIME COUNTRY RATE MINUTES
24-4-04 4:45 pm USA 2.5 61 (2.5x61) formula
14-5-04 2:45 pm USA 2.5 39 (2.5x39) formula

Another customer might have some other MORE or LESS
details and so on. What my employees do right now is..
With a pen and paper..manually write down
"customer's name, account number (which is unique ), date,
time, country, rate, minutes.
I enter data of about 3000 minutes every night after they
are done. I open up the folder..open up individual files
of respective customers and enter their data respectively
in their files. Then i have one main file thats linked
with all these 1000 files. So i can see balance of all my
customers at one go from there..without opening individual
files.
I want an excel file, in which i will be entering

account number date time country rate minutes

4539 4-4-04 2:20 pm AFRICA 12 2

Typing this should get the date, time, country etc etc
into the file which has account number 4539 that too at
then next empty cell in the row without deleting older
entries.

I think this is going to be impossible using just excel.
But my company wont let me use anything else other than
excel.
Please advice.

Hi Choco
Are you and Nimit working for the same company.
Have a look at the post returned by Earl Kiosterud on June
3 2004 3:23pm to Nimit Mehtar.
I guess what he is saying is it's time for a redesign of
your spreadsheet.....or change to Access database.
I had a similar problem with a golf Membership S/Sheet.
They now get one line each on a single spreadsheet!!
