bottom toolbar for internet explorer missing

I used to have the toolbar at the bottom of the screen
but now it is missing. This is where you can see the
padlock when you are on a secure site at the bottom right
corner. Which options should i change to get this
toolbar back? Thanks for your help.
 
From the browser window goto "VEIW" and make sure that
the "STATUS BAR" is checked, If it is it may be that the
page you are trying to veiw is running a javascript to
hide the status bar...
