I'm wondering about a couple of details:

Is this a report from Windows Vista?

If you check the references Plun gives, do the details found on your machine
match? i.e. is that really installed on your system, or might this be
either a false positive, or some leftover?

Is this a corporte desktop, or a machine used by family members not yet
adult?

This is a home pc, also I've never had an email from work to my personal
email and for the last few months I've been unemployed so I'm not sure wots
going on here.

OK--we can leave out an employer, and it doesn't sound like parents are
involved. If you don't have physical security--i.e. let other people sit at
your machine, it could be something planted by "a friend."

I would stay cool, however, and work at getting a second opinion that
verifies that this bug is actually in place.

I'd like to see a detection by some other product, ideally one known to
detect this keylogger, and not Counterspy, which shares enough
characteristics at this poiint with Microsoft Antispyware that I'd be
skeptical.

So the only detailed evidence of exactly what is detected is that single
rather cryptic registry line?

Can you get a trial version of Ewido and do a full scan with it?

Alternatively, you might do an online scan with Trend Micro's
scanner--housecall.trendmicro.com

I've used the following online scan "Trend Microâ„¢ Anti-Spyware for the Web"
at the following address

http://www.trendmicro.com/spyware-scan/free_spyware_scan.asp

This is the program that found the Boss EveryWare keylogger originally it
has the option to remove it but when I try the scan in a weeks time its back
on my pc again

I've used other scan software including a trial version of Ewido but none of
them have found the boss EveryWare keylogger. So I'm not sure whats
happening.

It is possible this is a false positive--does the Trend Micro scanner allow
you to see the full details of what it finds?

Have you tried Windows Defender--this is the beta2 version of Microsoft
Antispyware, and it is much improved. This certainly should be among the
critters it looks for, although such a list is not published.

Download and run it to upgrade the Microsoft Antispyware you may already
have in place.
