Borders to separate graphs and text

I have a document in which I want to use borders (not tables) to separate
graphs, text and tables on the same page. I have tried everything I can
think of but cannot get this to work. Does anyone have any ideas?
 
I found that when using a table to separate the two sides of my page, that
there were formatting issues when copying and pasting my graphs and tables
within the larger table.
 
Since you say you have a "document" is this a Front Page
question? Front Page is used to develop "web pages".
Perhaps you meant to post this in the Word or Publisher
newsgroup?
