Bootup Stalls

My computer has started freezeing up on bootup sometimes.
It doesnt do it every time. It gets to the Welcome
Screen, and freezes. Restart doesnt work. I have to shut
down, then start again. Some times, one time does it.
Sometimes, it takes two or three times. No error
messages. Any help appreciated.

Using WindowsXP Pro
 
My guess would be a hardware problem. Possibly some component needs to heat
up before it will work properly. Reminds me of my first PC. It did that and
it was a defective mobo.
