Okay, well first off I did use the search option on the forum and read up on all the other bootmagic problems others had, which are similar to mine, and tried the solutions but i didnt help.. lets get on with it:

Here's how it all started... (i have a c: and d:) So i partitioned my c:, taking most memory from there, and some of my d:. Bootmagic was installed onto the d:, because it did that by default. All the partitions went smoothly, bootmagic worked on startup to choose between my c: and d:. and then...

its a blur, but i do remember having problems with bootmagic and decided, "hey ill just delete all the files that bootmagic has on my d: and just reinstall and it will overwrite it" so i went on to do that only to discover that this put me deeper into my hole... i now get this error upon trying to reinstall bootmagic

"Setup cannot find the location of where BootMagic was originally
installed. Make sure the volume BootMagic is installed on is visible,
and is assigned the same drive letter as at the time of install."

****this problem is VERY similar to another thread in here...
https://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-126189.php ****

i did the fixmbr in the recovery console but that only help me here:
BTMAGIC.IMG file can't be found and Boot Magic needs to
be installed again. Press a key.

Yet again i still try to reinstall bootmagic and get..
"Setup cannot find the location of where BootMagic was originally
installed. Make sure the volume BootMagic is installed on is visible,
and is assigned the same drive letter as at the time of install."

please help me (

(i have winxp sp2, want to install freebsd, no 2 disc drives, no floppy)
