You write "..but windows does not boot up on the screen".
Which screen? How far does it get in the boot sequence?
What error messages (if any) do you see?

Nothing appears on the screen at all.It just remains blank.

Sounds like a hardware problem. If you have two or more RAM slots, start
with those by taking them out one at a time. Be sure to UNPLUG your
computer before proceeding to remove or install *any* hardware.

What hardware do you have, i.e., CDROMs, on board or separate video
card? Etc.

If your screen remains completely blank then your PC is likely
to suffer from one of these problems:
- Monitor not turned on
- Defective monitor
- Defective monitor cable or plug
- PC hardware problem (e.g. power supply, motherboard, CPU)
- Major hard disk problem
- Some internal cables not plugged in properly

Your best bet would be to take the machine to a PC repair shop.

I have a built in cd rom drive but no seperate video cards

Do you know how to remove RAM? If not, take it to a shop as it could
also be other hardware that's causing the problems.
