booting problem

while booting windows an error like "registery failure
cannot find hive file registery is not writable or deleted
or corrupted" comes on the screen and computer restarts

Hello

Try booting using a Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional CDROM and using the
'r' option to repair. This will take you into the recovery console.

Please Note: This is a last resort, and will potentially overwrite any data
in your registry, and possible make your system completly unusable!!!

Once here, try copying all of the files from \WINNT\repair to
\WINNT\SYSTEM32\config - repair is a 'sort of' backup of your registry.
