If I were to make boot dvd, esata or usb: Would it save everything or just
the core windows stuff?

Some people told me that windows is saved only and just what the barebones
of it installed was (without updates). Other people told me that some
programs can be saved, but certain things are not at all.

Thank you.

It depends on the tool you use to make your boot CD/DVD.

Try to better define your objective, issue, problem or anxiety first,
then select the best tool(s) for your purpose.

If you are tying to plan for the unthinkable computer disaster, what
is your definition of unthinkable computer disaster?

Who thinks the unthinkable? Can it be defined without thinking it, in which
case it isn't?
