Hi All,
Running Home Prem. When I boot up a windows installer message appears. I
don't show anything installing and it's very annoying. The full boot hangs
until I cancel it.
Does anybody have any ideas how to get rid of this annoyance?

Thank you all for your time.

Run msconfig to see what's listed. It may be that you deleted some
temp files before rebooting that were needed by a recently installed program,
so the install did not properly complete. I've seen users do this numerous
times... they install software and certain files can not be replaced until you
reboot, but they end up doing some cleanup before they restart, and the
software gets hosed. There are some software installs that do not tell the
user they need to restart before the install is actually finished. Or, the user
is doing something at the time and decides to "restart later".... they forget
about it and run something like Crap Cleaner or Disk Cleanup.

It may show up in MSCONFIG, startup where you would be able to disable it,
but failing that, you probably have a runonce entry in the registry that
doesn't get cleared as it never finishes. Did you have a failed program
install?

Hi Irwin--

What confused me about ***whether you can boot into Windows was your comment
"the full boot hangs until I cancel it." I'm not sure what you mean by a
full boot or what happens when you cancel it or how you cancel.
