hi
each time my PC boots up I'm presented with a screen asking
"to begin click your user name"
This same screen also appears when the PC has been left idle for over
5 mins (power management but not hibernation) mentioning how many
tasks are active

Anyone know why this is occurring and how to fix please?

| "to begin click your user name"

.. Go to the Start Menu and the Run box.
.. Type in the following:
control userpasswords2
.. now click OK
.. In the new Windows that appears select the account you wish to make the
primary logon.
.. Now uncheck the "Users must enter a username and password..." box.
.. Hit Apply and a dialog box will appear asking you to confirm the selected
users password.

Click OK.
The changes will work the next time you restart your computer.

In the Control Panel, open Display properties. On the screensaver tab,
uncheck the box: "On resume, display welcome screen". Then, under Power
Options on the advanced tab uncheck "prompt for password when computer
resumes from standby".

Thank you TaurArian
That did the trick, I've been trying to get this sorted for ages.
Let's hope it sticks
