I have recently installed XP replacing the 2000.
Now every time I reboot I am prompted from the DOS start up to choose
between XP or 2000. How do I get rid of it and just go straight into XP?

Hi

Could you please post the contents of your boot.ini file?

by the menu asking you to choose between the two OS, you didn't replace the
older os, you created a seperate partition hence the menu.
open boot.ini with notepad and delete the OS you don't want and then save
the file, reboot and voila
only one.

However if you really don't want the two OS to exist, I suggest you do some
research on deleting both partitions and format your hd and re-install xp
fresh.

you can use disk manager to delete partitions, however this does not allow
merging the unused partition with the one being used, you would need a third
party piece of software like partition magic to merge the partitions and this
could also require you to repair install of xp.
