Boot Problems

In spite of BootVis, two to three programs refuse to start. It appears that
a program "TalkClock", Version 2.00 Beta by George Callow is the problem.
When I put the start up icon on my desktop, then start it after boot up, it
starts and works fine. Also, the other programs start fine. If anyone has
any suggestions, please let me know.

Hi Leroy,

Disable it from loading at boot, then place a shortcut to the program in
your startup folder. This is the last place that startup programs execute
from, and may be far enough into the startup cycle to not interfere with the
rest of the routine. Use this folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

By the way, bootvis is not a cure for startup ills, it just tells you what
is going on.

Hello Rick,
The start up location you suggested is where I had it. Also, BootVis has a
"Optimize System" under Trace. It seems to work for the next 2 or 3 boot
ups, then stops working.

Hi,
I should also mention that one or two other programs fail to start, one from
the "Run" in the registry. I think I have a problem somewhat deeper in the
system
