boot problem

i have just rebuilt my pc and loaded xp all was ok untill i downloded service
pack 2
and now it seams to currupt messages i get are "the procedure entry point
AssocIsDangerous could not be located in the dynamic link libery SHLWAPI.dll

a few points, did you have a firewall active before you downloaded svc pck 2,
if not your system is most likely infected and needs to be cleaned.
also check for spyware/malware

The message subject says "boot problem" but there is no mention in the body
of the text about a boot problem. Maybe you want to resubmit your question
with some relevant information about what the problem is, when it occurs,
and the exact, correct wording, on any error messages.
