boot.ini

Hi, all

I made a Windows XPE Image and It works very well.
but, the problem appears when i compress the XPE image.

I compressed my XPE image to 'self-extract-zip-file', and then, I
extract the files from it and boot-up the image.
Actually it seems to be no problem, but it's different that there is
desktop.ini in the start-up folder.
so the notepad(desktop.ini) appears when system boot-up, but other
operations are OK.

Why does the desktop.ini file appear? anyone who has some idea?~
Please inform me.

That is odd, perhaps a long file name folder path name related to the User
Profile was corrupted when it was compressed? The few times i've seen
weirdness with the desktop.ini was when there was a problem with the user
profile not matching the desktop.ini, but it appears there are KBs for other
unrelated desktop.ini issues you could look at like Read Only attributes
being set incorrectly to certain folders, etc...

Sorry it's not much help, but definitely look for some ideas at
http://support.microsoft.com

Good luck.
