Today when I rebooted the computer, a message came up
saying "invalid boot.ini, booting from c:\windows." I
went into msconfig, and in the General tab, "use original
boot.ini" is checked. In the boot.ini tab, only two lines
are there: the [boot loader] and timeout=30. If you try
and click anywhere on the box, the System Configuration
Utility screen pops up with the send/don't send options.
I tried safe mode with the same results. Everything seems
to work fine, other than the boot problem. Is there any
way to correct this and add the other 3 lines to the
boot.ini file? I can't even do a repair install. It won't
give me that option. Will the bootcfg help me out? Thanks
for any help you can offer.

Hi Angie,

You need to boot the Recovery Console, run bootcfg /rebuild from the command
prompt:
