BOOT.INI

This file cannot be seen in Explorer, even with "Hide System Files" turned off.

A FIND reveals only BOOT.INI.BACKUP in c:\windows\pss

Perhaps there is no file because this is a simple system - no multi-boot -
working well ?

Where is BOOT.INI ?

Where is BOOT.INI ?

- Click Start / Run / cmd {OK}
- Type this command:
type c:\boot.ini {Enter}

It will probably show you the contents of boot.ini, even
though you believe it does not exist.

BOOT.INI is a hidden, protected operating system file, located at
the root of your Primary Active partition (normally C:\). It is not
normally visible in Windows Explorer. Have you also unchecked the "Hide
protected operating systems files" option?

Sure have. The suggestion from Pegasus displays works, and the variation
"c:\notepad boot.ini" brings it up.
Carey's method also succeeds.

Still, it's a mystery (to me) why the file does not display in Explorer (or
with FIND), even with system files not hidden??

Thanks to all
