boot.ini question

John, that is a normal boot.ini file, it's exactly the same as mine.
Getting back to those disks, if the main drive is a WD then in a 2 drive
situation you have to make sure you have it jumpered for DUAL (MASTER),
which means a jumper from pin 5 to 6. When it's by it self there would be
no jumpers, is this how you have it?

Look in your bios in advanced settings and see if cdrom is only boot device.
Make hdd 0 the first boot or leave cd as first and hdd0 as second. You can
also disable floppy seek at boot and speed things up a tad. If a second o.s.
was listed it would be right under the xp pro

Booot from the xp cd. Then run the recovery console and repair the boot sect
if that's what you want to know.

does this show it loading from a hard drive or cd rom or how can i tell? it
appears to want to default and load from my cd rom as with out the cd rom in
it doesnt want to boot

any other assistance would be greatly appreciated.
