-> Boot from a USB external drive? How? <-

S

Steve JORDI

Hi,
I'd like to be able to boot XP from an
external USB disk.
I can install XP on it, my laptop sees the
USB disk as a boot device.

Problem is that once XP is installed, after
loading approx. 40% it ends up on a blue screen.

My guess is that happens when XP checks all USB
connections and therefore resets the boot disk
connection as well, loosing it and failing to
boot.

How can I succesfully install XP on a USB disk
and have it work?

Did someone succeed in this?

Thanks for any help.

Sincerely,
Steve JORDI
