boot disk for windowsXP pro

tried to download boot disk for XP pro at website for KB
article 305595 without success. Unable to complet
installation of WinXP pro because of following error:

Windows could bot start ARC firmware boot configuration
profile. Did not generate ARC name for HAL and stytem
paths Check windows documentation.

do not understand why I cannot complete a download at
website for boot disk.

The Windows XP CD is the Boot disk. You need to set your
CD to the first boot device in the bios. Then the XP CD
will boot.

That is an extensive web page and there is quite a bit of the advice
that is okay. However there are also a number of items that are
ill-advised or at least incomplete. And at least a couple that are
foolhardy and possibly dangerous.

I would be very cautious about implementing any of the suggested
changes from this page.
