boot devices

when ever i start up xp on my pavilion a340n i get the
following message : reboot and select proper boot device
or insert boot media in selected boot device and press
any key. Pls help with this annoying problem
 
If your computer work besides the annoyance you have described, try going
into the BIOS and unselect everything on the boot sequence besides the hard
drive.
 
Hi,

Either a) change the device boot order in the system bios or b) remove the
CD or floppy that is in the drive.
