Boot and repair issues

XP pro sp2 and currently updated has boot issues. I can boot into safe mode
but can not get to boot w/cd to do repair or recovery consloe. Any ideas ?

When I hit F10 and select boot from cd, windows reverts to normal or safe
mode start options. I can boot to directory repair to access this site. Am
nearing wit's end

Jerry & Mike - Thanks for the help. I got it figured out, it was a bad
program filed that caused all this mess.

What happens when you try? What specific error messages do you get?
What do your system event logs report? What specific troubleshooting
steps have you already taken, and what were the results of each?

Sys blows by cd and tries to load. I hit f10 and sys goes back to safr mode .
Checked event viewer got "failed to load cdudf_xp" I uninstalled last program
mcafee viruscan 10 ,sys ran fine till I tried to defrag. It rebooted and now
prior problems are back

I was able to get to recovery console, no help tried to do repair install now
just loops on reboot doesnt make it to post can anyone help me ?
