Bolding Bullet Points

Is it possible to have a numbered or lettered bullet point bold while the text associated with it is not bold? This is easy enough to do in Word but I cannot find a setting or option to bold a bullet point in Power Point without also bolding the text. I tried cutting and pasting a bulleted list from Word into Power Point and the bullet points lost their bold face. I am using Power Point 2000.

Hello,

Are you sure that you are running PowerPoint 2000? This behavior should
have been changed in PowerPoint 2000 and later. The last version where
PowerPoint should behave this way was in PowerPoint 95.

Maybe you can use a variation on the solutions offered here, Andrew.

Echo S - Thanks for the response. That suggestion does work and I actually tried that one. It works great if the bullet point is only one line or less but is problematic if the bullet point text is more than one line. Doesn't look like there's an actual setting for that in PP 2000, just a work around that I'll have to live with. Thanks again

Hello,

If none of the suggestions provided give you the functionality that you
were looking for or, if you (or anyone else reading this message) have
suggestions for how and why you think PowerPoint should provide this
functionality (or make it easier), don't forget to send your feedback (in
YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).

Andrew, you may be able to work around this a bit more by doing the
following --

1. Turn on the ruler via View/Ruler
2. Hold down your CTRL button on your keypad
3. Drag the bottom of the indent carat things on the ruler until it aligns
properly with the first letter of your bulleted text

That bottom carat controls the indent level of the wrapped text in a
textbox. Holding CTRL gives you more control over its placement on the
ruler.

If all your textboxes need to be set this way, then do the ruler/carat thing
on your slide master.
