BMP image in forms

I have a new laptop. I've had an access database with a place in a form for a
picture, which is a bmp that I export from PhotoShop and them use Insert
Object to insert it into the form. Using the same access database and
attempting to insert a BMP into the same form on the new laptop, the picture
is only a thumbnail with a file name. I can't figure out how to get the
picture to the normal size.

I have a frame in the form already, which contains BMPs that show correctly.
It's the newer ones imported on this new laptop that won't show correctly.
How would I tell is the current frame is unbound? There is no reference under
properties.

The standard Bound Object Frame control is full of problems. You can try to
make sure that MSPaint - and no other imaging program - is the only
associated program with BMP images files but even then, I'm not sure that
you won't have any problem.

Instead of using the Bound Object Frame control, you could try the DBPix
control from Ammara. I never used it personally but this looks good.

Another possibility would be to download and store on the local disk the
images from the database. You can then use the Picture control to display
them. However, this won't work for continuous forms.

And if your form is in single view mode (ie., not a continouous form),
another possibility would be to embed a WebBrowser control and use it to
display your image using its URL; see:
http://bytes.com/forum/thread500687.html (and search the web for "Browser
Control Access", etc.).

I'm working in a database that I've had for years and has years of data in
it. I'm afraid that changing directions on how I display pictures is going to
mess up what is already there, and displaying correctly.

I tried changing the association with BMPs in windows to Paint as there was
another photo editing software on this new laptop. Didn't help. In addition,
since I'm having problems with this new laptop, I figured I would use my
desktop until I resolved the problem. The desk top is now saying to restall
the OLE server and not working either. I don't know what that means and
needless to say I'm discouraged beyond words right now.

Good news. I discovered there was an application called Nero (I think) that
did images. I deleted it and problem solved.
I'm doing a new post for my other problem.

Nero is a suite of programs designed for doing light multimedia works and -
most important - burning (writing to) CDs and DVDs; so you might have
problem creating CDs or DVDs on this station without Nero. There are other
programs around to make CDs and DVDs but a possibility would be to reinstall
Nero but only its core program; without all these other little crippy
things.
