I have a problem when connecting to VPN i get the following error:-

Raspptp.sys
page fault in non paged area
stop 0x00000050
address 8ba07b30 base at 8ba0300

Any ideas how to fix it?

Hi Andy,

Sounds like that module, raspptp.sys, is either corrupt or the wrong
version. It is trying to access protected memory space. There is a patch
here that may help:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930163

Otherwise, I'd suggest running sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt
to detect and repair any corrupted system files.

Hi Rick,

Thanks for the suggestion but the patch didn't fix it and sfc /scannow said
it found problems but could not fix them.

I think i will just use the recovery disk and restore the laptop to its
factory settings and try again

cheers

I've had 2 memory dumps while connecting to VPN gateway with sonicwall's
global vpn client (beta) for vista.

Me too, just bounced back from one. No apparent damage on restart/safe
followed by restart/normal. Second time, commonality is during extended VPN
session using SonicWall Global VPN beta. DreamScene was running both times.
Stardock object dock also running (it seems to regularly "stop" according to
intervening Vista Ultimate msg. Recent email from SonicWall said the beta
had been promoted to real life, I believe. Wonder if there's a patched
version out there.
