I've noticed that Word does not find all the mistakes. It will find many,
and then miss some very simple ones. Why does this happen????

Hi Curious,

What version of Word? Blue wavy lines are used in Word 2007 for both formatting inconsistencies and for contextual spelling. The
contextual spelling (as with the other spell and grammar tools) have never claimed to replace your judgement as the best way to
proof read a document.

Version 2007 and contextual spelling. I realize I'm still responsible for
proofreading, but when I type "There car was green" and it doesn't recognize
"there" it surprises me.
