Blue Statue of Liberty toolbar

I use IE 6.0 under Windows XP Pro. I regularly update and run my anti-virus
software and my anti-spyware software, as well as check for and download
critical updates, etc. from Microsoft.

A new toolbar has appeared on my IE screen. It is located just below the IE
toolbar, and includes buttons for "Search the web", "Go". "Visual
Bookmarks", "Pop-up Bin", and "Search Results". At the far right in this
toolbar is a picture of the Statue of Liberty. Also there is a label in this
toolbar that says "Powered by YAHOO! search".

I don't know how this toolbar got onto my IE screen, but it may have been
something my college-age grandson has done - and he is not available right
now. Apparently it is a Yahoo product, judging by the label.

How do I get rid of this toolbar? Thanks.

Well, I found out that unchecking "Viewpoint Toolbar" under VIEW / TOOLBARS"
hides it. Still wondering how it got there in the first place, though.

No. All I did was hide it by the method I described in my 2nd post. I looked
in the "All Programs" list and in the "Add / Remove" function of the Control
Panel. No sign of anything "yahoo" related there, and, as I said, my
anti-spyware and AV software are both up to date and were run 2 days ago and
today as well. I use spybot S&D, AdAware, and AVG. I even did a search on
"yahoo". Nothing was found except about 10 text files with "yahoo" in the
name. Two were cookies. The rest were text files in the emailbackup folder.
So how do I uninstall this yahoo function? Thanks.

Question no. 1: I don't
Question no. 2: I don't have Yahoo ANYTHING installed, at least nothing with
"Yahoo" in the name.
