Blue screen of death!

Could someone please help with my problem. Im running Windows XP Home SP2 On
an AMD64bit 3400mhz Processor with a gig of ram. when i insert a disk (
either a CD or a DVD ) into either my CD or DVD Rom i get the blue screen
with the following stop code:

STOP : 0x0000008e ( 0xC0000005, 0x806D0753, 0xF7A2B684, 0x00000000 )

Can anyone please help!!!!

Look up this MSDN article:

Check the configuration and setup of the CD and DVD drives. That is,
how are they jumpered. To what are they connected, e.g., Primary IDE
or Secondary IDE, SATA? Attempt to resolve per article.
