Blue screen of death error message

Yesterday, for the first time I got the blue screen of death. Since Windows
automatically restarts when the blue screen of death comes up I wasn't able
to get the error code, but I did find something in Event Viewer.
Unforunately, it was deleted.

So, I ran Disk Cleanup, my personal registry cleaner and my personal disk
defragmentation program. For the rest of the day, I didn't get the blue
screen of death, so I assumed it was a one-time problem.

Unforunately, I was wrong. While talking to somebody on AIM, I got another
blue screen of death and my computer restarted. I checked Event Viewer and
this time I copied and pasted what it said:

Fault bucket 0xA_fwpkclnt!FwpsInjectTransportSendAsync0+220, type 0
Event Name: BlueScreen

===================
The URL in the report directed me to a page which told me the problem could
be solved by downloading and installing Windows Vista SP1. I followed all the
instructions at that page but it doesn't appear Windows Vista SP1 is on my
computer, even though it doesn't appear in Microsoft Update.

The question I have is: What do I do? Do I install Windows Vista SP1 manually?

Before I even posted all of this, an automatic scan finished for AVG
Anti-Virus saying it found 1 infection. I checked the Virus Vault and the
virus was located
at C:\Windows\System32\PCANDIS5.sys. To my understanding,
C:\Windows\System32 is a system directory. Could this also have caused the
stop error?

I will be able to get back to any replies asap, as I am monitoring this
thread via e-mail notification.

Turn off the automatic restart. Right click on Computer, select Properties,
select Advanced System Settings in the left pane, choose the Advanced tab,
look for the Startup and Recovery section and click Settings. Uncheck
Automatic Restart.

I turned off the automatic restart. So if it happens again I'll write down
the important information such as the error code.

Hi,

If you still have it, can you send this file to me:

C:\Windows\minidump\Mini062708-01.dmp

It may contain useful information about the dump to indicate where the
problem lies. Send to the email address used here ([email protected]) with a
subject line of 'per req' to get past filters.
So, I ran Disk Cleanup, my personal registry cleaner and my personal disk
defragmentation program.

Registry cleaners in general are a bad idea with Vista as "dead" entries
have no affect on system performance and the cleaners can often misidentify
critical keys as unnecessary and mistakenly remove them. Best to undo any
damage it may have done by reversing the clean up (most of this tools have
an undo feature).
