My son restarted his winxp pro computer while downloading programs and now
gets a blue screen with error message process1_initialization_failed
stop:0x0000006B (0xc0000034, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). In trying
run winnt.exe from my winxp pro disk I get a error message, internal setup
error - can't find place for swap file".

Using a boot floppy I can get a A prompt but computer will not recognize my
c drive. Does this mean that the c drive is messed up and have to be
reformatted, which unforunately wipes out all data?

Check in your BIOS to make sure the HD is being detected, it maybe that the
filesystem was messed up, if in thatc ase yes your reinstalling, try booting
from the XP CD and running a repair install first before you format the HD.

Its not exactly your error, but its worth a shot if that program is
installed.
The reason you cant see the c: drive when you boot from a startup floppy is
that you are probably using a win98 bootup disk which cant read NTFS
partitions.

CAUSE
This issue may occur if the Roxio GoBack program is installed in your
computer.
Note The GoBack program is also included with the Norton SystemWorks
program.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, cancel Windows XP Setup, remove GoBack, and then
restart Windows XP Setup.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, disable GoBack when Windows XP Setup restarts the
computer:
Warning If you disable GoBack, all historical GoBack-related information is
lost, and you cannot use GoBack to restore your computer to an earlier
state.
Restart your computer, and then press the SPACEBAR when you receive the
GoBack "Press SPACEBAR to repair problems or see other boot options"
message.
On the GoBack Boot menu, click Disable GoBack, and then click Continue.
Click Yes to disable GoBack.
After you disable GoBack, click OK, and then click Continue.

You are right about the win98 boot disk since I noticed that it said that
when booting from that floppy. Since my other computers use fat32 rather
than ntfs do I need to find another computer that uses such to make a new
start up disk?

Problem solved by putting it's primary drive into another winxp computer as
secondary and during startup it went through chkdsk and winxp fixed the
problem. Thanks for everyone's help.
