Blue screen and IR port....

Marinero

Please, help!
I have Compaq Presario 2700 laptop, and connected to it external IR port
model "Hoya IrWave 520 UK" via USB 1.1 port. After trying to remove this
device from my laptop choosing "Stop" device in the "Safety Remove Hardware"
dialog box from Task Bar I have "Error Blue Screen" with Error number and
system rebooting. Unfortunately I could not fix the number of appeared error
on the blue screen because rebooting is too quick. Installed Win XP +SP2.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Marinero,

To determine what driver is causing the problem I need you to enable driver
verifier.
Steps:
1) Windows Key + R
2) Type in 'verifier' and hit enter
3) Make sure 'Create Standard Setting' is selected and hit next
4) Click on 'Select all drivers installed on this computer' and hit Finish
5) Reboot

There is a possibility that your computer will crash on reboot. If this
occurs hit F8 when rebooting just before the windows logo screen and select
the safe mode boot option. Follow the same steps above but on step 4 choose
'Select driver names from a list'; hit next; check the box next to any
driver where the provider is not Microsoft; hit Finish; reboot.

This will slow the performance of you computer a little while enabled but
will hopefully catch the driver causing corruption. Next time you crash
the blue screen will hopefully say something like
"DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION". If this occurs please send the
corresponding minidump (by default it is at c:\windows\Minidump ) my way.
If you have any questions or I didn't explain something well enough don't
hesitate to e-mail me back. Good Luck,

Hi Marinero,

Unfortunately this one isn't as straight forward as the last one. Here
is a link for the Online Crash Analysis, but all it says is to contact your
manufacturer for a fix. You should visit the web site for whoever builds
your machine and get all the updates they have available. If there are a
bunch you may want to only do one or two at a time so that you will have an
idea of which one might have been at fault if you should install one and
have other issues afterwards.

Hello Joshua,
Thank You very much for Your cooperation, but after installation of new
Synaptics Touchpad Driver I have the same situation as before. Now I
attached new dump file generated by the system after installation of new
drivers for touch pad.

Best Regards
Marinero.

Hi Joshua,
Thanks for Your replay! But I have already all updates from site of
manufacturer, but each of them is too old. The age is about 2 years ago:-(.
And very often the people from Compaq advice to me to ask the question
to my local distributer of Compaq. The nearest dealer of Compaq is about 350
km from my house and it's too easy to ask HP by e-mail. But HP persons
could not help me by e-mail:-(
