Try another monitor from a friend. It sounds like your monir is going bad.

My former Sony 17" monitor--and now my Samsung 19" flat screen
monitor--both have had one-pixel high blue lines permanently displaying
across their screens. I've seen the thin blue line on monitors in computer
stores, and have read where other users have encountered the same
phenomena on their monitors, so I'm not alone.

Checked with both monitor manufacturers and was assured the blue line
was fine--that the blue line was a "resolution enhancement" line designed
to maintain monitor quality control. Learned to live with it. Very seldom
notice it on the Samsung, but it was always apparent on the Sony monitor.

Was told that I couldn't turn it off; that it was built into the monitor. The
blue line appeared the first time my monitors were powered up. Can't
explain why a blue line would suddenly start appearing on your monitor.
Perhaps a display driver update might be in order?

Your situation may be entirely different. Hope so. Good luck.

Good point. I was referring to the built-in blue lines
appearing on my two flat screen CRTs.

The OP may well have a laptop. If so, that may indicate a
serious problem (hope not!) ...that one array line of pixels
on his/her LCD has gone bad...the only solution in that case
would be to live with it or replace the LCD panel at a very
high cost.

Sounds like you're referring to the tensioning wires in the monitor mask
that divide the screen into approximate thirds. They "may" appear blue
but it's really just a really fine wire across the screen.
