NEWSGROUP SELF APPOINTED ASS ALERT!!!!!!!

No. XP does not have a "Wonderful" help system. At least 95% of the time
I've tried the "Help" system it leads nowhere. Kind of like the "FAQ." These
are never frequently asked questions. They are written before the software
is published, and are questions a programmer thinks a beginner might ask.
Problem is, they NEVER are.

Best,
Karl

And thanks to PaulM who answered my simple question.

Well said that man. Windows help has *always* been dreadful. If it was any
use, we wouldn't need newsgroups at all, would we......

I completely disagree. I think it was terrible until XP, where
for the first time, it's decent.

I've gotten more answers through this and the other NG's than "NO Help" ever
gave me. I have a folder called "Help Creations" where I download posts
either relevant to my situation or answers to queries seen repeatedly asked
by others.

We'd need them for the 25% of problems not covered in 'Help', (although
most of those cane be answered via Google). If you think it's dreadful,
you obviously haven't tried it much .. it's probably the best
computerised help system I've seen to date, and a good 10x better than
anything in Win9x/Me/NT/2K.

Like I said, start, help, 'color files' .. what do you see?

They are compressed using NTFS compression. Usually the $NTUninstall. .
.. folders of files needed should you want to uninstall corresponding
hotfixes
