Blowing dust out of the case

David,
Not only that, but have you noticed that the side-effects of all
the test-tube toxins called "medications" are worse than the disease?
Duh. And people keep on paying through the nose for the crap!

Yes I would really enjoy 'uncontrollable oily running stool' in order to
help relieve my migraines. NOT!

I use the AMA doctors like I use mechanics, for their machines I can't
afford. Basically they are simply front sales persons for the pharmaceutical
Mafia.

I don't see you turning down vaccines, or pain medicaiton when you've
shattered a leg, or antibiotics when you've got a serious infection.
Whiney little hypocrites tend to shit me.

Well, it can certainly look that way of one doesn't realize the side
effects listed are for a fraction and not everyone.

People just aren't identical clones of each other and some react
differently than others.

Sure, but not everyone will experience the side effects, and sometimes
the side effects really are a step up from the original disease.

Most dealers simply use a small compressor outside with an air nozzle
just don't blow off any jumpers

Your hard drives are sealed so it would have to be literally covere
in dust on an exposed HDD PC board to have any effect

For the HDD to be that bad the box would be so full of dust and cra
to the point of making the thing run hot with dust covering the fa
blades and the cpu HS and all cards drives and mainboard

I have found that any vacum fitted with the soft brush fitting and
soft 1" paint brush for the tough stuff does OK, just be careful t
not suck off any jumpers

I would be wary of touching the components with a brush or vacuum
cleaner attachment.

The key word is "may" -- Which means that they may not :)

I think the point he was making was that it should be bloody obvious
that a sleeping pill is likely to cause drowsiness...but if they don't
put it on the label someone from a Darwinian backwater will do something
stupid and then sue sue sue!

is there anything I should keep in mind if I want to blow dust out of
the case with a can of Dust-Off? Is there any reason why doing this
would be hazardous

Although I have an air compressor, when I cleaned my system out a
couple weeks ago, I put it up on the table, removed all the cards, and
use a vacuum cleaner with an uhpolstery nozzle to collect the dust I
loosened with a 1.5" paintbrush. Air, only dislodges the really loose
stuff, and may send it places you don't want it.

Plus, don't those canned "air" products actually contain flammable
gases, which might ignite if excessive amounts are used indoors?

I use a paintbrush and a narrow nozzle on the vac. No problems so far.
I suppose there's a small risk of static charge generation, but then
the same problem exists with compressed air.
The only components I actually touch with the nozzle are the slots,

spoken like a extremely naive person.

First thing they do is call EVERYTHING a disease, then they can create a
pill to cover the symptoms.

This world hasn't come up with a single cure since polio. That's because
they are too interested in making man made plagues. The AMA is the front
man and that's the naked truth. Pills cover up until the problem is no
longer curable, then you die. Saving the Gov. a few bucks on your social
security. I wish people would get their head out......... Please spare me
the inexperienced clap trap, I have lived this nightmare, like many, first
hand. Health care in the US is a joke as is the public school system.
Everytime gov. needs money they rip off our kids, FIRST THING. Of course it
would take allot more than this paragraph to explain what is really
happening on this subject and this isn't the forum.

I use my industrial compressor out in my shop. I set it for about 50-60lbs
pressure, remove cards and blow it out. It only takes a couple of minutes to
check all the connectors (usually the front panel connectors come off) but
it does a good job and I have never had any ill effects. It is the best way
to get the gunk off the fans without taking a rag and wiping them down. I am
prone to allergies from dust and do wear one of those cheap filter masks,
but do it outside the shop and get by fine.

The 'cure' you mention for polio is a vaccine, not a cure, you complete
and utter ****tard.

Understood -- I'm just pointing out that it might not be the only reason
they use that wording -- Rather, it may be covering their ass if the
potion doesn't work. They're not claiming it does anything, they're
just claiming it might.

No problems so far.

You mean no noticeable problems so far. But you do not test
electronic equipment for living. Your evaluation does not tell
whether equipment is still working to manufacturer specifications.
Anyone who takes your advice here cannot tell that either, let alone
hold you to account.
I suppose there's a small risk of static charge generation,

There is static charge generation, the risk is damage to the
components which is not necessarily measurable by you.

If you can provide links to professionals in the field that support
your advice, your advice could be taken seriously.

But you won't because there are none.

I agree that some of the same risk exists with compressed air, but
in any case I would not touch component leads directly. That is just
a bad idea.

No, the key word is SLEEPING pills.

I suggest a more universal label applicable to all" "warning: may do what
it says it does."

Warning labels are not were "claims" are made.
