blocking unwanted mail

A while ago I foolishly posted to a newsgroup using my
real email address. Now I get emails all the time with
viruses attached to them. Lucky for me, I am on a college
campus and all attachments get scanned before they make
it to my computer. The malicious files never reach me,
because those attachements are removed and replaced with
a file called alert.txt, which just tells me what
happened. These still clog my inbox, however, as I can
get up to 30 in a day. I played with the rules wizard,
but found that the sender's address is always different,
and, though similar, the subject line changes all the
time too. There are a few things that remain constant,
but I hesitate to block all messages that
have "upgrade", "update", or "patch" in the subject line.
What I want to do is to block all incoming messages that
have an attachment called alert.txt, because that is the
only common factor that is never common to emails I want
to receive. In the rules wizard I found that I can block
all emails that have attachments, but nothing that goes
as specific as the filename of the attachment. I
apologize for the long post, but can somebody help me?

You can't set rules based on attachment name. A think you can do is to
contact your administrator and ask if he/she can edit the subject line as
well when a virus is detected. If he/she adds -**VIRUS DETECTED**- to it, it
shouldn't be a problem to set a rule for it.
