How do you tell Vista that a startuip program it is blocking is good?
Everytime I boot Vista I need to permit a wireless lan program which
came from ASUS to run.

Al

The program is not coded correctly.

When Avast Antivirus was first released for Vista the same thing happened.
You had to give it permission at each startup. Then, after about 2 more
product updates they got it right. Now it just runs.

You will have to wait for Asus to get it right.

Just for clarifications purposes, if I write a program would I need to
get permission from Microsoft before I can run it on my computer?

Al

You own the program you wrote. You also have licensing rights to use Vista.

I don't see ah how you would have to get Microsoft permission to run "your"
program on your computer.

But, perhaps this is not what you are really asking. If not, clarify your
question.

Ok, why does this program I downloaded from ASUS for my motherboard
need to be "permitted" by Vista/Microsoft to run. Even if it is a
Vista security thing I should be able to tell Vista to run and not
bother me every time I boot up. I permitted it when I installed it.

Al

One of the benefits, and one of the reasons you got Vista I presume, is the
increased security. This is one of the results of increased security. The
programs designers have to be certain that "their" programs conform to the
new standards. Your fight is with Asus. Contact them.

can you turn off the option to run with windows and instead run it as a scheduled task at logon.
