Blinking cursor

I'm using Word 2003 and I have a strange problem with the cursor. The cursor
blinks when not typing and when you start typing it stops blinking and stays
as a solid line until you stop typing. I think that is how it should be.
However I have noticed that some times the cursor blinks at the same time as
typing which is incredibly distracting when looking as you type. Has anyone
got any ideas why this may be happening?

I have noticed this occuring but only when working in one particular
environment.
That is when working within a table in Print Layout view and I have hidden
the White Space. With White Space showing the problem does not occur. I have
not been able to track down any cause/solution for this problem.
In what environment are you noticing this problem?

For info about White Space see

It's in print layout view and it's using a template document where a macro
runs first to input the address and name fields etc. When I disable the
macro the problem doesn't occur. I will try the white space checkbox and let
you know.
Thanks

Maybe the macro does not have a complete finish sequence.
If this is the case maybe post a question in the word.vba newsgroups and
hopefully you may get the macro refined.

FWIW, this is also the default behavior *everywhere* in Word 2007, though I
can't say I'd noticed it till someone else pointed it out.
