we have managed to sort ours this morning. problem was
trying to log into the microsoft website to download the
update before the pc crashed again. we were only getting a
couple of minutes of internet access before it shut down.
left my son at home this morning to keep trying and
eventually he got enough time to download and run the
update from http://microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?
FamilyId=2354406C-C5B6-44AC-9532-
3DE40F69C074&displaylang=en
been on-line now for 3 hours without any further problems
