Blaster Virus

I have a friend who can't get rid of the blaster virus. She's tried several
times to run the patch from the Microsoft Security website and every time,
it gets half way through and then closes down without installing the patch.
I told her to run the blaster removal tool from Symantec, but I am not sure
if this will completey remove the virus from the system.

She's running Windows XP Home and her account has administrative access.

My suggestion to remove it would be to visit Kelly's website, which has loads of tips and tricks
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_qr.htm#rpc download the relevent script file, ie. the msblas
worm file, save it on the infected machine and double click it to run it! it tends to make the process o
removing blaster pretty simple and quick! there are instructions there and if you like it the sit
help kelly out with a little donation, its worth it
