blank monitor

My computer starts up and flashes the Windows logo across
the screen and then goes black. I hooked another monitor
up and it does the same thing, so it is not the monitor.
I have an emachine computer. Any thoughts?

It could be that you have your resolution set too high for either
monitor or that your video card has failed. Can you get into Safe Mode?

See if safe mode works. This will, in theory, tell you if its a hardware
or driver problem or video setting problem. If it works in safe mode
then see if you can set your video settings to defaults.
