Black Screen when trying to playback

I have save pictures as Jpeg images and put them in moviemaker to create a
movie and when I click the play button all I see is black screen.

I personally have not had an issue with JPG's but it has been reported that
they do occasionally cause problems. Try converting them to BMP's and using
those in your project instead and see if that solves the problem.
