Black screen after POST

Won't boot, BIOS looks ok, but screen goes black after post. Rarely, the
black-and-white progress bar appears, but doesn't get far.

Bad hard disk seems most likely to me. Other ideas?

There's no way for us to tell you what hardware components are failing

Testing hardware failures often involves swapping out suspected parts
with known-good parts. If you can't do the testing yourself and/or are
uncomfortable opening your computer, take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigStoreUSA).

Seems to be a hardware issue.Check your graphic card.
