Vista Enterprise on an IBM Thinkpad T42 with a TPM chip on the motherboard
and enabled in the BIOS.
IBM had a Vista TPM driver so installed it. the TPM is visible and enabled
in device manager but when i run Bitlocker it says no TPM was found....
whats the deal?

Troy--

Could this be a situation where you need a TPM software upgrade to the
chip?

I dunno-- but you might get some help particularly from the first link

"The feature ideally uses a Trusted Platform Module (TPM 1.2) to protect
user data and to ensure that a PC running Windows Vista has not been
tampered with while the system was offline. BitLocker provides both mobile
and office enterprise information workers with enhanced data protection
should their systems be lost or stolen and secure data deletion when it
comes time to decommission those assets."
