I just purchased an ASUS P4G800-V board and have a couple of BIOS question.
I will be installing XP Home on this system.

1. In the Main menu Primary/Secondary IDE configuration there is an option
to enable "32Bit Data Transfer?" I don't remember seeing this option on my
other
boards. Should I enable it? I'm using IDE drives.

2. In the Advanced Chipset menu, what is the Flat Panel Type setting? I
will be using an NEC LCD1850 flat panel monitor. I'm not sure how to set
this.

Thanks.

Read the motherboard manual. Asus may not include it in paper form any
more with their boards (it has been awhile since I bought a new Asus
board) but if not, it will be on the cd that came with the board.
Another great resource for information on motherboards is
www.amdmb.com. Even if your processor is an Intel, the motherboard
forums are great.

That is also known as '48 bit LBA' and is necessary if you are to use a
drive over 128GB (binary base - 137 decimal). You also need XP with SP1
to use them. I would enable it provided you are not using drives that
you are bringing forward and retaining the partitions on them, with none
of these new larger size ones
