Bios question

I'm trying to use the Asus update utility that allows a windows interface to
update my Asus mobo.
When I insert the Asus CD and try to install the update, and after
downloading the latest update utility from the Asus site, I get the same
thing;
The utility throws me a window saying no Asus mobo found and program must
close. I've also gotten a window saying "ASUS BIOINFO.DLL" NT service
registry error! Please reboot NT and run again.
Can someone make sense of this and possibly solve it so I can install this
and update the BIOS?
I'm assuming the program isn't reading a necessary DLL but I've no idea of
why or how to fix it.
Thanks much for any assistance.

Just a matter of preference, but I never, ever update a BIOS from within
Windows, there's much less that can go wrong using the tried and true DOS
boot disk method.

Thanks. I found the issue last night. It was the Sound Max onboard driver.
Took the driver out, installed the update utility and everything is go at
this point.
