I want to use the male female and virgin female symbols (virgin female is
female with a v on the top) to write a report about fruit fly genetics...
they used to be in bookshelf symbol but I can't find virgin female symbol on
my new XP and word 2002 computer help....
For the female symbol, type 2640 and press Alt+X. For the male symbol,
use 2642 and Alt+X.
You can assign easier shortcut keys to them as follows: Open the
Insert > Symbol dialog. Select either Arial Unicode MS or Lucida Sans
Unicode in the font box. If you don't see the Subset dropdown on the
right, set the "from" box at the lower right to "Unicode (hex)".
In the Subset box, scroll down and select "Miscellaneous Dingbats".
Find the female and male symbols in the main part of the dialog.
Select one and click the Shortcut Key button. Press the shortcut key
combination you want to use, click the Assign button, and click Close.
Then set the shortcut for the other symbol.
