I am using an HP pc with windows xp home edition. When i need to reformat my
computer, all i need to do i restart and press f10 and it does it
automatically in about 15 minutes. My D drive is used for recovery, i needed
to reformat but wanted to keep some files so i placed them in the D drive,
there was not enough space inside so i deleted the Recovery File in the D
drive and then it wouldnt reformat because i deleted the files. I had to
reformat with the cd and now my computer has two windows xp's installed on
it. How can i delete one?

I have two installations of XP on the same partition

Hi,

Boot the one you want, delete the system folders for the one you don't want.
As they will not be "in use", there is no reason you should not be able to
delete them.

You can then click start/run, type msconfig and click ok. Go to the boot.ini
tab, click the button to "check all boot paths". It should offer to remove
the invalid boot entry.
